It's been almost two weeks since our first photowalk event happened! The excitement and nervousness was real on the day as this was our first appearance as Beginning Film since we started our platform a little over a year ago.
This event was hosted by us along with the incredible @bendtmagazine, an independent art and photography magazine that's releasing their 1st edition very soon! We had the pleasure of meeting them last year when they reached out to us and asked if we'd like to do an interview for their magazine. Of course, we gladly accepted and had a great time meeting Josiah, Aaron and Kiira.
Fast forward to 2019, a new year and new beginning, one of our goals was to step out of the internet into real life with more community driven events. We are super grateful that @bendtmagazine were just as keen as we were when asked to collaborate with us, needless to say, we couldn't have had such a successful day without these guys, legends!
This was the route we had planned for the walk - a scenic harbour/city walk that brings us from the Sydney Camera Market all the way to Circular Quay and finally ending at Frankie's Pizza. The full walk was 6km, 1 hour and 20 minutes walk based on Google, but the actual time it took us as a big group including resting was around 3 hours.
Here was the turn out in front of Ultimo Community Centre, where the three-times-a-year Sydney Camera Market took place. What a turn out!
More group shots when we got to Barangaroo Reserve!
It was really amazing to gather a big group of people from all walks of life to join us on a such a hot day. We also had Gary from @filmneverdie, Jess from @viva_la_film, Adrian and Col from @sydneycameramarket, Photographers Anonymous Sydney join us, as well as many we recognised from social media! Thank you all for bringing such positive vibes and high energy throughout the day.
